In the Matter of South Carolina Electric & Gas Company t Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station, Unit 1 Docket No. 50-395 pO3 I

Gentlemen: A Transmitted herewith are Applicants' Proposed Findings of l/ !

Fact and Conclusions of Law in the Form of a Partial Initial Decision. We should like to suggest that, no schedule having been set for transcript corrections and a large number of corrections being required in the transcripts for the earlier portions of the hearings, a date for transcript corrections be set coincident with the date for the filing of the Staff's Proposed Findings. Such corrections will be of assistance to the Board in reviewing the proposed findings and may be of utility in connection with preparations for further hearing sessions.

In that latter connection, we have been in contact with witnesses and potential witnesses on the matters to be covered O

at the reconvened hearings, and have confirmed their availa-bility for the week of September 21, 1981, that being the date tentatively scheduled for the resumption of hearings in the last conference call. We would request that that date for the resumption of hearings (which will be required irrespective of the resolution of the Staff's pending motion for directed certification) be confirmed so that all involved may also finalize their plans for that week and, if Judge Linenberger's predictions prove correct, for some days in the following week.

Attorney.for Applicants Postscript:

In an effort to be of assistance to the Board, we are in the process of preparing a listing of decisional record and will submit it as soon as complete. In that connection, we

have already noted that five of Mr. Bursey's exhibits (Nos.

l 1, 2 , 3, 4 and 5) were identified but apparently not admit-i ted (See Tr. 1437, 1972, and 2551). It may be useful to resolve that matter prior to the date for submission of j

Mr. Bursey's proposed findings.
