VITAL AREA ANALYSIS This acknowledges receipt of your letter of February 13, 1981 by which you transmitted a change to the security plan for Arkansas fluclear One.
This change also included security plan modifications intended to better incorporate the results, of the fiRC sponsored vital area analysis of your site conducted by los Alamos flational Laboratory. The fiRC staff position on how the results of those analyses are to be incorporated in licensee securtiy pTans is currently under review. Therefore, those portions of your submittal specifically oriented toward better incorporating the results of the flRC spcnsored vital area analysis have been reviewed only to the extent nececary to verify that the modifications proposed were in accordance withSubsection50.54(p)of10CFRPart50. After the NRC staff has finalized its position, you will be informed concerning any possible need to review your existing security plan to assure that vital areas and equip-ment identified in the analysis are being protected in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 73.55.
We agree that the changes, as contained in the enclosure to your above referenced letter, are consistent with the provisions of 10 CFR Part 50.54(p).
We further agree that the enclosure to your letter contains information of a type specified in 10 CFR 2.790(d) and is therefore being withheld f.im public disclosure.
SECURITY PLAN We have reviewed Enclosures 1 and 2 to your letter dated January 2, 1981 which was a description of proposed changes to the Atl0 Units 1 and 2 Industrial Security Plan.

We request that you provide a response within sixty days of receipt of tnis letter to the matters identified in Enclosure 1. to your Janua.ry 2, 1981 letter described changes which you considered required NRC approval in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(p)/ 00ur comments on this were forwarded to you in our letter dated April 23, 1981.-
For your convenience the enclosure to our April 23, 1981 letter is attached-as Enclosure 2 to this letter.
We have determinded that the enclosures to this letter contain information of a type specified in 10 CFR 2.790(d) and should be withheld from public disclosure.
