As a result of the inspection conducted on sune 29, 1981, and in accordanca with the Interim Enforcement Policy, 45. FF. 66754 _(October 7,1980),.the following violation was identified:-

10 CFR 32.16 and License Condition 2. requires that an annual report-4

covering the year ending June 30 be submitted to the Director of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Wash--

ington D.C. ' 20555. The report'should state the number o.'

units of each -

type of product imported, the total ouantity of tritium imported.and the number of units of each type distributed.

Contrary to this requirement, at the time of the inspection, an annus1 repcrt for the year 1980 had not been : ubmitted.

This is a Severity Level V1 Violation (Supplemout VII).

I Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, Roger's Jewelry Company, Modesto, California, is hereby required to submit to this office within thirty days of the date of this Notice, a writtea statement or explanation in reply, including:

(1) the corrective steps which-have-been taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further items of noncompliance; 4

i and.(3) the date when full compliance will be achieved. Consideration may be givan co extending your response-for good cause 'shown. The responses directed by this_ Notice are not subject to the clearance procedures of the Office of Management and Eudget as required by;the Paperwork Reduction Acto?dfl980, PL 96-511.
