Dear Mr. Keppler:
This report is being submitted as required by Technical Specification 3.3.3.4, as the Meteorological 150 foot wind direction instrumentation was declared inoperable on July 16, 1981, due to erratic operation.
The cause was determined to be a faulty wind direction sensor, manu-factured by Geotech-Model No. 50.2C.
Due to several previous lightning strikes, the plant was out of spare units and additional units were on order. The back order was expedited.
The 150 foot wind direction indication was repaired and placed in operation on July 29, 1981.
