Background
Item 0 of the subject application requests an increase in the licensed possession limit from 12,000 kg U-235 to 20,000 kg U-235. In a July 9,1981 telecon to W. T. Crow, Mr. Wirk explained that the increase was needed to permit storage of more fuel components needing rework, as well as new contract material. There is adequate authorized storage for the additional material. The Region I project inspector has no objection to this amendment. II. Conclusion and Recommendation The proposed change in the possession limit will not have any adverse effect on safety or the environment. Approval of the amendment is reconraended.
