REGULATORY GUIDE 1.97 PHASE I REVIEW Our letter of March 20, 1981 serial number 191 committed to a Phase I comparison and review of existing instrumentation ranges and requirements, power supplies and seismic / environmental qualifications to the requirements of Regulatory Guide 1.97 Revision 2.
Phase II will consist of i nplementation of the actions required by the conclusions from.
Phase I.
It was also stated that this review would be completed in mid-June, 1981 followed by a letter to the NRC detailing conclusions in July, 1981.
The comparison has been substantially completed, however review of NSSS instruments has not been completed due to difficulty in obtaining the Westinghouse design basis document for NSSS instruments.
Upon re-ceipt and review of this document, Vepco will complete the evaluation of our compliance with Regulatory Guido 1.97.
It is anticipated that the Vepco position and the Westinghouse Docu-ment review will be completed with issue of a letter to the NRC in Sep-tember, 1981.
The September letter will document instrumentation that satisfies the intent of Regulatory Guide 1.97 Revision 2 requirements.
The instrumentation that des not comply will be documented along with action required for compliance.
