t Appendix A NOTICE OF VIOLATION The Cleveland Electric Docket No. 50-440 Illuminating Company Docket No. 50-441 i
As a result of the inspection conducted on June 30, and July 1-2, 1981, I
and in accordance with the Interim Enforcement Policy, 45 FR 66754 l
(October 7, 1980), the following violation was identified:
10 CFR 50, Appendix B, Criterion XIII requires measures be established to i
control handling, storage, and preservation of materials and equipment in accordance with work and inspection instructions to prevent damage or deterioration.
J Section 11.6.2 of the N.Q.A.M., states, "all welding materials shall be stored in a locked storeroom."
Contrary to the above, on June 30, D81, during an inspection of General Electric welding activities, the inspector noted that the welding material storeroom was unlocked, unattended, and a 1.5' hole had been cut in one
]
wall of the storeroom.
This is a Severity Level V violation (Supplement II).
The inspection showed that action had been taken to correct the identified item of noncompliance and to prevent recurrence.
Consequently, no reply to this item of noncompliance is required and we have no further questions regarding this matter I
