Subject:
Virgil C.' M _ ear Station Docket No. 50/395 Potential Substantial Safety Hazard Final Report
Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
On January 6, 1981, Mr. Bob McFarland of NRC Region II was notified of a potential substantial safety liazard on the subject:
Cracked HFA Relay Coil Spools.
l On February 13, 1981, an interim report was sent on the above item.
We were dvised of the possibility of the cracked Relay Coil Spools by General Elect.
letter dated December 19, 1980. We obtained a list of safety I
related HFA relays and their locations. Nuclear Operations Electrical Main-tenance completed a search for defective HFA relays and none of the potentially defective relay coils in the plant equipment or in spare parts were discovered.
L Therefore, substantial safety hazard on this subject does not exist. This is considered a final report on the matter.
Very truly ours,
/
