W Enclosed is a recent scheduld for the review of Generic LOCA-Related Loads for Mark III Containments. Since we have detemined that the present schedule will seriously impact the Grand Gulf licensing schedule, we have recomended that the technical staff apply additional resources, as necessary, to accelerate this review.

As shown on the schedule, a meeting on this subject with Ger.eral Electric will be held on August 4-5, 1981 to identify and clarify problem areas.
14e recommend that you, as a Mark III owner, take steps to urge General Electric and others to fully prepare for that meeting and perhaps, be in a position to resolve earlier ~, some of the outstanding issues in this review. As the applicant, you should further prepare to respond fully and in a timely mannor to staff concerns that will come out of this meet-inc. With an intensified effort by all parties, we feel that the schedule for resolution of this issue can be accelerated.
Otherwise, this item will seriously impact the licensing schedule for Grand Gulf.
