ACCEPTANCE OF AMENDMENT 5 TO QA TOPICAL REPORT IMW-We have reviewed and evaluated Amendment 6 to the Gibbs & Hill, Inc. topical re-port GIUSAR-17-A, " Quality Assurance Program," submitted with your letter of June 23, 1981. Amendment 5 reflects organizational, procedural, and editorial e changes. We find that this report describes a quality assurance program that meets the criteria in Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50 and is therefom acceptable.
You may implement it upon issuance.
For the Gibbs & Hill, Inc. quality assurance program, applicants need only refer-ence this topical report in Chapter 17 of license applications. We do not intend to repeat our review of this topical report when it is referenced in an applica-tion.
Should regulatory criteria or regulations change such that our conclusions about this topical report are invalidated, we will notify you.
You will be given the opportunity to rmfise and resubmit it should you so desire. Programatic changes by Gibbs & Hill, Inc. to this topical report are to be submitted to NRC for review prior to implementation. Organizational changes are to be submitted no later than 30 days af ter announcement.
Please include a copy of this letter and our evaluation in each report and transmit 40 copies to the NRC.
In your transmittal letter indicate to which plants Amend-ment 5 will be applicable.
