In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR Part 50.59, we are enclosing 40 copies of a requested amendment to license DPR-77 for a temporary change to the technical specifications of Sequoyah Nuclear Plant unit 1 (Enclosure 1).
Justifications to support the proposed change are also enclosed (Enclosure 2).
This change involves a revision to the containment average air temperature (Technical Specificatien 3 6.1.5).
TVA requests this temporary technical specification change for a period of 120 days effective July 23, 1981. During this period, TVA will be investigating the reasons for the increased lower compartment temperature and taking any required corrective actions necessary to remedy the problem.
In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR Part 170.22, we have deter-mined the proposed amendment to be Class III. The classification is based on the fact that a single safety issue is involved. The remittance of
$4,000 is being wired to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Attentien:
