PROPOSED LICENSE TO EXPORT DEUTERIUM 0XIDE TO CANADA XMAT0192 On July 13, 1981, KOR Inc. filed an application to export ~ 154 kilograms of deuterium oxide to Canada for repurification purposes only. The material will then be returned to the U.S. for scientific research.
The applicant has requested by telephone that an export license be issued on an emergency basis so that the material can be shipped immediately.
The str.ff has concluded that the proposed export meets the requirements of the Atomic Energy Act, as amendad, and would not be inimical to the common de-fense and security of the United States.
In view of the above considerations, the staff issued this license without the normal 15-day waiting period.
