' Receiving 1.
Radioactive material required by John Deere Foundry will be ordered by Radiation Protection Officer and will be either of following:
(a) 50 Cu Cobalt 60 - Model #428-8 capsule shipped in Tech / Ops source changer Model 488 or 771.
(b) 15 MilliCursource contained in Tech / Ops Model 571 survey meter calibration kit.
2.
When radioactive material has been ordered, the Radiation Protection Officer will notify receiving department by completing form (Exhibit #1 Page :41) and sending form to receiving department.
NOTE:
This form spells out the specific responsi-bilities of the receiving department.
3.
Receiving department must notify Radiation Protection Officer (s) or Radiographer (s) immediately upon receipt of radioactive material, and store in safe area until surveyed and released by Radiation Protection Officer (s) or Radiographer.
NOTE:
A safe place is an area unoccupied by employees within 8' of package.
4.
Radiation Protection Officer or Radiographer will monitor the package cf radioactive material in receiving department.

(b)
Radiation Level limits:
(1) 200 Mr/llr,on external surface (2) 10 Mr/llr?at 3' from external surface (c)
If radiation levels do not exceed limits, receiving department will deliver package to exposure roon.
(d)
If radiation levels exceed limits, Radiation Protection Officer must immediately notifv the
" Director of Region III N.R.C." by telop!ine, and telegraph, mallogram or facsimile; and the final delivering carrier; and direct receiving department to deliver package to exposure room immediately.
Proceed per instructions from N.R.C. j
Apart 2,Section IX (Continued) 6 (c)
