URANIUM MILL LICEf! SEES REQUESTS FOR IfEARINGS On March 26, 1981, substantially similar orders were issued to all uranium mill licensees by John B. Martin, Director, Division of Wtste Management, Offiee of Nuclear Material Safety and Safecuards. The orders require the licensees to submit for a period of one (1) year on a quarterly basis a dose assessment to the nearest resident as a method to determine corpliance with 40 CFR 190. The licensees are also required to submit.onta2qQarterly basis the data of the enviro;unental monitoring program at their facilities.
Enclosed are copies of requests for hearings received by our offiee from eight licensees, however, 'atcleast: Federal Anerican Partners and possibly several other licensees are expected to withdraw their request for hearing if some minur technical aspects can be resolved.
I have also enclosed a draft flotice of itearing for your convenience.
