Subject:
Crystal River Unit 3 Docket No. 50-302 Operating License No. DPR-72 NUREG-CT57 Ites II.F.1 Additional Accident Monitoring Instrumentation
Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
Action Plan Item II.F.1 requires the installation of additional instrumentation to be used for accident monitoring.
Our letters of December 15, 1980, and May 29, 1981, addressed the scope and schedule for Florida Ibwer Corporation's compliance with the installation, operability, and documentation aspects of this Action Plan requirement.
Pursuant to te]ephone conversations with members of your staff, we offer the following clari '" cation to our previous correspondence.
The procurement of state-of-the-art instrumentation has been pursued for several months.
Use of engineering judgement and good business practices has led us to the point where we can order an integrated monitoring system to be used during normal operation c.nd under post-accident conditions.
Delivery of this equipment is stated as seven (7) months from receipt of an order.
Preparation for installation of this equipnent will be completed during our refueling outage which is scheduled to begin in mid-September 1981.
Our continued efforts will be directed to achieve installation and operation of the accident-monitoring system by January 1,
- 1932, by expeditiv equipment delivery. - Should accomplishment of this delivery task not become achievable, you will be advised within five (5) working days of the nature of the problem, our revised schedule for completion, proposed compensatory actions (if any are deemed necessary), and a justification for continued operation until such time as the proposed system becomes operable.
