I JUN 121951 MEMORANDUM FOR:

Chairman Hendrie Commissioner Gilinsky Commissioner Bradford Commissioner Ahearne THRU:

William J. Dircks W.

~

M' Executive Director for Operations FRC!i:

Harold R. Denton, Director, ONRP.

SUBJECT:

STARTUP SCHEDULE FOR SEQUDYAH, UNIT NO. 2 Enclosed for information is a planned startup schedule for Unit 2 provided 10, 1981. TVA projects a fuel load date of June 18th by TVA on June followed by six weeks of preparation and tests prior to exceeding a 5%

power level.

Experience indicates that such a schedule is very optimistic and contains no allowance for unanticipated events.

As of June 10th, IE states that 3 of the 10 items on the Prior to Fuel Loading list and.4 of the 31 items on the Prior.to Initial Criticality list are com-pl e te. The TVA-estimated fuel load date is still achievable according to IE's Region II staff.
