This refers to the investigation conducted by Mr. D. D. Driskill and Mr. R. K.
Herr of our staff on October 15-17, 22-23 and Noveccer 13, 1980, at your facility
in Bay City, Texas, concerning allegations that a Ccnstruction Foreman was fired
be:ause he resisted pressures being exerted on his men, that Brcwn & Root, Inc.
had rehired individuals who were forarly fired as a result of an NRC investigation
and that safety-related documentation, in a particular activity, is inadequate
and sora have been falsified. The investigation and our findings are discussed
in the enclosed investigation report.
. In accordance with Section 2.790 of the Ccmission's " Rules of Practice," Part 2,
Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter together with the
enclosed investigation report will be placed in the Comission's Public Docurent
Room.
If this report contains any information that you believe to be prcorietary,
it is necessary that you make a written application within twenty (20) days to
this office to withhold such infomation from public disclosure. Any such
application must include a full statement of the reaso:.s on the oasis of wnich
-it is claimed that the information is proprietary, and should be prepared so
that proprietary information identified in the application is contained in a
separate part of the document.
If we do not hear from you in this regard within
the 'specified period, the report will be placed in the Fablic Document Room.
