SURVEILLANCE OF RCS FLOW SPLITTER PLATES NORTH ANNA POWER STATION UNIT NO. 1 As requested by Mr. L. B. Engle, of your staff on Friday, February 27, 1981, we are forwarding this letter of intent.

In accordance with North Anna Unit 1 Technical Specification 4.4.10.1 we have completed ultrasonic testing on all Unit 1 flow splitter plates. This testing revealed a number of indications in loop 'A' flow splitter plate.

In light of these results we intend to perform additional ultrasonic testing of the Unit 1 flow splitter plates during a maintenance outage tentatively scheduled for November, 1981.

I We also intend to continue the augmented loosse parts monitoring program.
