Subject Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS)
Units 1, 2, and 3 Proposed Security Plan Amendment File:
89-006-493; 89-056-026 This letter, including a signed original and three copies, requests an amendment to the PVNGS Security Plan and is being submitted pursuant to 10 CFR 50.54(p) and in accordance with 10 CFR 50.90 as a request for changes that would decrease the effectivenese of the Security Plan. The proposed amendment will extend and expand the program for temporary unescorted access. The proposed PVNGS program will be consistent with that presented in Nuclear Management and Resources Council, Inc. document NUMARC 89-01, " Industry Guidelines for Nuclear Power Plant Access Authorization Programs," dated August 1989.
Further details en the proposed amendment are contained in the attachment.
In accordance with 10 CFR 50.4(b)(4)(iv), we are herewith forwarding two copies of the proposed amendment to the Regional Administrator of the Region V office.
