n On 11/9/89 at.1526, a four-hour non-emergency report was made to'the.NRC Operations-Center regarding the loss of channel "C" 120VAC Class',1E. inverter due- to a blown rectifier fuse. This report was. made .in-accordance with 10CFR50.72 (c)-(2) (iii) .

lFurther review of the event established that the initial

determination 'of. the need for. this report. was overly conservative and not.. required.- Redundant equipment on channels A,B, and D'was unaffected by the loss of this inverter, and was

operable-and / or.available.for service-if required.

A Licensee: . Event Report for this event will not be issued,

.however, internal investigation-into the cause of the inverter v failure is continuing. ,
