1. 50-272 OLA (Spent Fuel Expansion) ( ALAB 650) , permitting an amendment to the operating license of the Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Unit #1, permitting the installation of new storage racks that would increase the capacity of the spent fuel pool from 264 assemblies to 1,170 assemblies entered on July 20, 1981.

The Petitioner contends that an Environ-mental Impact Statement under the National Environmental Policy Act, 42 U.S.C. S4321, et seq., is required for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's policy of permitting long term storage ut reactor sites through spent fuel pool expansion. /
