Contractors for Physical Protection Program This letter is in response to your staff's request for written conformation of the schedule and purpose of the vital area analysis conducted at the Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station.

Tne engineering analysis conducted by two individuals of the Los Alamos National Laboratory, under contract to the NRC, during the period of May 18-22, 1981 is part of the overall physical protection program applied at all power reactors. The analysis is designed to identify those areas and equipment within the facility that are considered vital.

The enclosure provides the names and identifying information of the NRC contrat. tor personnel that conoucted the analysis at your facility.

Since the enclosure contains information of a type specified in 10 CFR 2.790, it will be withheld from public disclosure.

Information you consider to be proprietary which was required by these two indi"~ duals l

l during the analysis will be afforded protection from disclosure in accordance with standard NRC procedures and regulations.
