Additional Infonnation Requested for the Independent Structu Analyses of Byron /Braidwood i
The Nuclear. Regulatory Commission staff with the assistance of EG&G Idaho, Inc., is performing independent structural analyses of the Byron and Braidwood facilities.
In order to complete the analyses, the following 4
information is requested.
1.
All the drawings, schedules, and lists necessary for defining all structural load bearing walls and columns, structural properties, dimensions, and locations for the Byron /Braidwood Nuclear Plant auxiliary, turbine, fuel handling, and radwaste buildings.
2.
Drawings or lists defining floor loading (equipment loading and design live loading for all floors of the auxiliary, turbine, fuel handling, and radwaste buildings).
3.
Properties of soil between Braidwood Station auxiliary-fuel handling building complex foundation and bedrock necessary for determining soil shear springs and mass.
In addition, soil spring constants and soil i
mass values used by Sargent add Lundy engineers for their horizontal seismic analysis of the auxiliary, turbine, fuel handling, and radwaste building complex are requested.
Please forward one complete package of all drawings and other infonmation requested directly to EG&G Idaho ( Mr. Tom Bridges, EG&G Idaho, Inc.,1955 Fremont Avenue, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83415) and one package of.the drawings on aperture cards to the NRC.
In addition, send to the NRC seven copies of the information requested with a list of the drawings you are providing.
