In lieu of a discussion at the hearing session of April 28, 1981, the Board agreed to the proposal of some of the parties that any interest in calling NRC Staff witnesses for cross-examination on plant design and procedures issues addressed in recently issued Staff safety evaluation reports and supplements should be presented in a written report to the Board on or before May 1, 1981, identifying the particular portion (s) of the safety evaluation report (s) or supplement (s)

This will constitute Licensee's report.

Little May 1, 1981 Page Two In some cases, the Staff has taken positions, in these recent documents, which are new to Licensee and which alter the scope of requirements to which Licensee has committed on a different basis, or which attempt to impose new require-ments of which Licensee was not previously aware.
It is our strong hope that Licensee's concerns with these Staff positions will not have to be aired before, and resolved by, the Board in the hearing.
In order to avoid that prospect, we intend to discuss our concerns with the Staf f as soon as possible in an effort to resolve them.
The following, then, is a List of the portions of the SERs and supplements affected by Licensee's present con-cerns.
We are not currently requesting that Staff witnesses appear at the hearing for cross-examination on these subjects, but it may be necessary to renew our request if informal l-resolution with the Staff cannot be reached.
