Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 2 - ENVIRONMENfAL QUALIFICATION OF CLASS IE EQUIPMENT - TEN ITEM 50-328/81-20-04 The subject open iten was initially reported to NRC-CIE Inspector C. R, McFarland on June 16, 1980, in accordance with 10 CFR 50.55(e) as NCR's SQN EEB 8009 through SQN EEB 8015 and SQN EEB 8019 Information concerning these items was submitted on July 16, August 11, September 19, and November 21, 1980, and February 25 and April 3, 1981.
In our last response on itou SQN EEB 8015, it was noted that certain relays in the auxiliary air compressor instrument rack would be replaced before unit 2 fuel loading. However, TVA has reevaluated the operating conditions for these miays against the available data on relay qualification and operating experience. Based on the reevaltation, it is concluded that the relays are acceptable for use cm an interim basis. The subject components will be mplaced with qualified relays in accordance with the guidelines provided in NUREG-0588.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with D. L. Lambert at FTS 857-2581.
Very truly yours, TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY L. M. Mills, Manager cot Mr. Victor Stallo, Director Office of Inspection and Enforcement U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Q"/
