Dear Sir,
Referring to your letter Docket No. 99900039 dated April 16, 1981 relative to the status of our Black Fox 2 unit in our shop, we can provide following information.
A.
No activities have been performed on this contract since your last visit.
B.
In cooperation with our Customer, General Electric Company we worked out a manufacturing schedule which allows NPT stamping of the parts concerned at the earliest date possible.
That is in detail :
- Vessel head and loose welded safe-ends : No work to be done 1s left, can be NPT stamped.
- Studs, nuts and washers : Work will be discontinued.
- Bottom section vessel : status : First vessel ring is partly welded to the bottom.
We will separate this ring from the bottom and NPT stamp after machining of weld preparations both parts.
- Top section vessel, item 5, 6, 7 and 8 : status : Weld between 5-6 and 6-7 have both extensive repair.
We will repair weld seam 5-6 and separate 5-6 from 7-8, after which stamping will be performed.
RSV-A is now awaiting approval of manufacturing documents from our Customer and will start *the balance of operations as soon as possible.
