Gentlemen:

The Uranium Recovery Licensing Branch is presently undertaking a generic study aimed at better understanding the stoichiometry of undergrounc chemical reactions involving lixiviants, ambient groundwater, and the surrounding uranium ore body. To accomplish this we need scme information concerning lixiviants and ore rock composition.

It would be most helpful if you could send us the following:

. A representative mineralogical and geochemical analysis of the ore matrix from your uranium solution mining sites.

. A complete chemical analysis of lixiviants you hav? in use, with ranges of reagent cuncentrations.

Your prompt reply would be appreciated, and if you have any questions, please call me at (301)-427-4103.

Sincerely, John J. Linehan, Section Leader Operating FacilitiesSection I Uranium Recovery Licensing Branch 81061806/q
