At approximately 7:40 a.m., June 12, 1981 a Riggs Distler contrac he i.
was selected for random search at the contractor access control poin e
o guard conducting the search found a small vial (35 nun film cannister) containing approximately three to four grams of a green substance which was identified by the. contractor as marijuana. The individual's unescorted access was withdrawn and he was turned over to the Lacey Township Police Department.
The State of New Jersey has been infortned. Media interest is anticipated. A press relea<a is not planned by the licensee or the NRC.
The licensee did notify the iocal law enforcenent authorities.
This Preliminary l;otification is issued for information or.ly and no further action by IE is anticipated.
Region I (Philadelphia) was informed of this event by the Resident Inspector at 9:00 a.m., June 12, 1981.
