Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
In response to your April 9,1981 letter which transmitted IE Bulletin 81-02, we wish to advise that a review of the gate type motor-operated valves at McGuire has been conducted.
The pressurizer block valves for Unit 1 (INC31, INC33, and 1NC35) and Unit 2 (2NC31, 2NC33, and 2NC35) are Borg-Wa'rner Nuclear Valve Division (BW-NVD) Part Number 74380-1; however, these valves have been modified and satisfactorily re-tested at full flow conditions (Re Significant Deficiency Report SD-369, 370/79-14).
Additionally, five spare BW-NVD Part Number 74380 originally intended for use as Catawba blocks valves are being transferred to McGuire. These valves will be sent back to Borg-Warner for modification and will be placed in McGuire's spare stock on their return.
