O APPENDIX A NOTICE OF DEVIATION Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company Docket No. 50-309 License No. DPR-36 As a result of the inspection conducted on March 2 - April 7,1981, it appears that certain of your activities were not conducted in conformance with your commitments to the Commission as indicated below:
A.
NUREG 0737 dated October 31, 1980 states, in part, "I.A.1.1.
Training that meets the lessons-learned requirements shall be completed by January 1, 1981..."
Maine Yankee letter WMY 80-167 dated January 3,1981 to the Nuclear Regulatory Comission states, in part, "1.
Training that meets the lessons-learned requirements shall be completed by January 1,1981... Maine Yankee has completed the training required under item (1) above.
A descrip-tion of the training...is included as Enclosure (1)..."
Enclosure (1) states, in part, "The Designated Shift Technical Advisor training program included lectures and training in the following areas..."
Contrary to the above, on March 11,1981, the licensee had not provided all of the lectures listed in Enclosure (1) to the above cited letter nor had the Shift Technical Advisors then standing duty attended all the lectures which had been provided.

NUREG 0737 dated October 31, 1980 states, in part, "III.D.3.3.
Each licensee shall provide equipment and associated training and procedures for accurately determining the airborne iodine concentration..." Maine Yankee letter WMY 80-162 dated December 15, 1980 to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission states, in part, "III.D.3.3...By January 1,1981, Maine Yankee will have available equipment and associated procedures for accurately detennining the airborne l
l iodine concentration via absorption on charcoal..."
Contrary to the above, on March 18, 1981, the licensee did not have pro-cedures available to determine airborne iodine concentration.
