Request for Additional Infonnation Concerning the Fire Protection Program at Byron /Braidwood As a result of our continuing review of the Byron /Braidwood FSAR, we find that we need additional information to complete our evaluation. The specific information required is in the area of fire protection and is presented in the Enclosure.
To maintain our licensing review schedule for the Byron /Braidwood FSAR, we need a response to the enclosed request by June 30, 1981. Please contact the Licensing Project Manager if you anticipate dificulty in meeting this schedule or if you desire clarification of the enclosed request.

Appendix R to 10 CFR Part 50 will also be used as. guidance for our review of your fire protection program. Your compliance with the requirements set forth in Appendix R as modified by accepted exceptions will be made a license condition.
Identify any exceptions your program takes to the requirements of Appendix R as well as BTP ASB 9.5-1, and describe your alternative for providing an equivalent level of fire protection.
