Unresolved Safety Issue: Shutdown Decay Heat Removal Requirements, Task A-45 As a follow-up to our conversation on May 5,1981, enclosed please find the two documents that I promised you relative to the subject Task A-45 program.
After you have had a chance to review the enclosed documents, I propose that we meet to discuss where Sandia may be able to assist us in the resolution of the Task A-45 program. We are tentatively planning to meet for a half-day with the ACRS Subcommittee on Decay Heat Removal Systems on July 7,1981 to review their comments on the enclosed draft Task Action Plan.
If it is convenient for you, I propose that we meet for a half-day during the week of July 6,1981. Also, Les Cave, who is already under contract working on certain aspects of Task A-45, plans to be in Washington, D. C. during that week.
I understand that you and Bob Bari (BNL) plan to meet at the ANS meeting in Miami during the week of June 8,1981 to discuss, in detail, your respective programs and plans relative to decay heat removal systems.
I believe such a meeting is a good idea in order to ensure that there is no significant duplication of effort.
Please call me at 301-492-8230 to inform me whether you can meet with us in Washington, D. C. during the week of July 6,1981; or if this date is not convenient for you, please propose an alternative date and location.
