President 1300 East 92nd Street Chicago, IL 60619 Gentlemen:

On April 1,1981, I issued an Order Imposing Civil Monetary Penalties in the cumulative amount of Two Thousand One Hundred Fifty Dollars.

By letter dated April 7,1981, you responded to the Order and stated all radiographic operations at Burnside Steel have ceased, the two cobalt-60 sealed sources had been trans-ferred to Technical Operations, Inc., Burlington, Massachusetts and that you would have your NRC license terminated.

The Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards, at your request, terminated NRC License N,, 12-03681-01 on May 22,1981. As a result of your actions, I have decide.d to rescind the Order Imposing Civil Monetary Penalties.

The Rescission Order is enclosed.

In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
