Docket No. 50-285

Dear Mr. Seyfrit:

IE Bulletin 81-02, dated April 9,1981, identified a concern that gate valves manufactured by Westinghouse, Borg-Warner, and Anchor Darling exhibited a failure to fully close against differential pres-sure. The potential problem was identified during Electric Power Research Institute tests of Power Operated Relief Valve (PORV) block valves. In response to the bulletin, Omaha Public Power District has -

reviewed all valves installed at the Fort Calhoun Station and all valves in stores. The District's investigation revealed that none of the gate valves identified in the bulletin are in use or in stores. Accordingly, the District considers this concern to be closed.

Sincerely, /h, '/
