SUBJECT:

REQUEST OF THE ROCKFORD LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS PURSUANT TO 10 CFR 2.206 and 2.202 RE: BYRON (COMMONWEALTH EDISON COMPANY) OUTSTANDING SAFETY PROBLEMS On November 21,1980, the Rockford League of Women Voters (League) made a request pursuant to 10 CFR 2.206 for consideration of a number of alleged safety problems at the Byron facility. On December 22, 1980, you denied the portion of the League's request which sought imediate agency action.

Enclosed is a January 27, 1981 letter to the Corm 11ssioners from the League's counsel, Myron M. Cherry, which is stated to contain supplemental infomation.

The letter has been referred to the Staf.f for action. Please consider this additional information in preparing your final decision under section 2.206 on this matter. No acknowledgement appears warranted at this time as your final decision will serve this purpose.
