b Portland, Oregon 97204 Dear Mr. Withers-This is in response to your letter of April 30, 1981, wherein you stated your plans for plugging all row 1 tubes in steam generators B and C.
In your letter of April 2, 1981, you reported that all row 1 steam generator tubes were plugged in steam generators A and 0 in a February 1981 outage.
Your plans for plugging all row 1 tubes in steam generators B and C during the current refueling outage will therefore result in all row 1 steam generator tubes at Trojan having been plugged, and acceptably resolves the issue of steam generator tube integrity in the U-bend region for these tubes.
The :ow 2 tube U-bend samples removed from steam generator D and axamined as reported in your letter of January 30, 1981 disclosed no apparect problems. Nevertheless, some problems with row 2 (as well as row 1) tubes in the U-bend section have been found at Zion. We therefore request that your next eddy current testing include a suitable sample of row 2 tubes in the inspection program, No response to 'this letter is necessary unless you disagree with this request.
