Dear Mr. Grier:
Recently Chemtrol Corporation received the written results of CHEMIROL Fire Test CTP-0205 from Construction Technology Laboratories, A Division of the Portland Cement Association, located in Skokie, Illinois. Fire Test CTP-0205 was arranged by Chemtrol Corporation in order to qualify fire penetration seals installed at the Vemont Yankee Nuclear Power Station that utilized General Electric RTV 6428 Silicone Elastomer as a seal material.
As cocmunicated in our letter to the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, dated November 3, 1980, the results of the Fire Test CTP-0205 were less than satisfactory and, perhaps, a major cause for concern.
Please find enclosed CHENTROL Fire Test report CIP-0205; test data and laboratory verification herein is compiled in a manner typical of test reports submitted to American Nuclear Insurers for review.
