Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
In its letter of December 31, 1979, Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) provided a schedule for completing the equipment qualifi-cation testing for the installed Safety / Relief Valve position indication equipment at the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant. Due to slippage in the schedule, the qualification testing will not be completed by May, 1981 as previously scheduled. This slippage was caused by vendor delay in completing the program plan, and several review and comment cycles on the program plan and qualification specifications. CP&L's current schedule projects completion of testing by September, 1981. Based on this pro-jection, CP&L will submit the f:.nal test report to the NRC by December, 1981.
If you would like further infor:ation on this matter, please contact our staff.
Yours very truly, C
