Dear Mr. Abel:
In the Zion Fire Protection Safety Evaluhtion Report we identified a number of items which could not be evaluated until additional information was provided.
. By letters dated April 30, May 28, September 30, and November 24, 1980, and by verbal connunication the Connonwealth Edison Company (CECO) has provided the results.of an evaluation to achieve and maintain safe shutdown for postulated fires in various areas of Zion. 0ur consultants, Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), ander a technical assistance contract reviewed this analysis. Their report is included as Enclosure 1.
Many of the recommendations in the BNL report have been discussed with your staff.
It is requested that CEC 0 review the BNL report and provide the necessary information to resolve these concerns.
If there are any questions on this matter, please let us know.
