Gentlemen:
Georgia Power Ccmcany is currently in the process of drafting Technical Specification revisions for snubber surveillance as ra:uested in Nr. D. E. Eisenhut's letter datec Ncvember 20, 1980.
Submittal Of a license amendment acclication to incorporate the precosed snubber Technical Specifications into cur Ocpencix "A"
Tecnnical Specifications is required by April 3,
- 1981, bas =d ucen our receipt of the aforementioned letter.
Due to a variety of circumstances, including awaiting a revised listing of mechanical snubbers generated after modifications during the recently completec Unit 2 maintenance / refueling cutage and moving of our offices to a new 1ccation, we are unable to submit the recuestec Technical Specifications by April 3, 1981.
Therefore, we respectfully request that an extension of two (2) weeks be granted.
This extension will allow us sufficient time to review the Unit 2 mechanical snubber listing and to obtain necessary information from the snubber vendor regarding functional test parameters and acceptance criteria for mechanical snubbers.
Similar information is required to complete the Technical Specification revisions for Unit 1.
Please be advised that the Unit 1 mechanical snubber listing will reoJire an additional submittal at a later date pending completion of replacenent of certain mechanical snubbers with that of another manufacturer and possible impact due to the I&E Bulletin 79-14 walkdown during our maintenance / refueling outage now in progress.
If you have any questions or comments in this regard, please contact this office.
Sincerely yours, g
