Dear Sir:
This' report of tests and experiments-is, submitted, in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 50.59, for the period lbrch 1,1980 to March 1, 1981.
'The fuel plates used comprised a core loading of 152 MTR type, flat, stationary j.
. plates and 24 MTR type flat, control rod plates. Ten stationary and 2 control rod plates are stored in the fuel vault.. All of the fuel plates are leased by the U.S. Department of Energy under contract DE-AC02-76ER03457.
Through periods March 1, 1980 to April 23, 1980 and July'7, 1980 to August.13,
'1980 the Facility was used to conduct a graduate level course on reactor experi-
.ments for classes of 12 and 7 students respectively. The Facility was also used-for two days as.part of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's summer course-for-industry on reactor. design.. Further, three students were involved in project work at the Facility to: satisfy. degree requirements. The reactor experiments course is currently being taught and three students are working on projects (two
-masters and one senior project).
.' Routine scheduled maintenance was performed in June, January and February.

Two projects were completed during the report period. The core was successfully.
reconfigured within the license limits and the neutron activation analysis
.. project was completed.

t-The experimants, operations, and topics covered in association with the use of the facility remain the same as described in previous reports.
- All-activities and experiments have been conducted in accordance with our NRC reactor license CX-22.
There have been no changes to our Technical Specifications and our activities did not involve any unreviewed safety questions.
