7590-01 UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION DOCKET NO. 50-309 MAINE YANKEE ATOMIC POWER COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE
.The U. S. Nuclcar Regulatory Conmission (the Commission) has issued Amendment No. 54 to Facility Operating Licensd No. OPR-36, issued to Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company, which revised Technical Specifications for operation of the Maine Yankee Atomic Power Station (the facility) located in Lincoln County, Maine. The amendment is effective as of tha date of issuance.
The amendment consists of additions to the Technical Specificaticns to provide greater assurance that redundancy in decay heat removal capability will be maintained in all modes of peration.
The applicatier, for the amendment complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's rules and regulation.t. The Commission has made appropriate /indings as required by the act end the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chaptc* I, which are set forth in the Itcense amendment. Prior public notice of this amendment was not required since this amende?nt does not involve a significant hazards consideration.

-t 7590-01 The Commission has determined that the issuance of this amendment will not result in any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR 551.5(d)(4 an environmental impact statement or negative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in conrection with issuance of this amendment.
