Your letter of January 19, 1981, LL2-81-0014, Cork Seal Contamination Report The referenced letter sumarized the results of your cork-seal contamira-

tion investigation and the planned corrective actions.
In the letter.ou concluded that the source of the contamination could be positively identified as the seal injection valve room.
In order to complete our review of this matter, we have determined that additional information is necessary. Accordingly, please provide the i
following:

Provide the Cs-137 to Sr-90 ratios in the cork-seal samples.
Explain the significance of the ratios with comparisons to ratios in the j
containment building sump, primary coolant system, and decontamination i
liquids that come from the seal injection valve room.
2.
Discus,. the sources of the water found in the cork-seal cavity.
Include an explanation as to why this water level varies over time.
3.
Discuss your plan for monitoring other plant areas for possible leakage fri.m the containment building sump.
Include the schedule for periodic sampling of the areas where leakage might be detected, such as other cork-seals and the tendon access gallery.
