Mr. James P. O'Reilly, Director Serial No. 118 Office of Inspection and Enforcement N0/RWC:jmj U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Docket Nos. 50-338 Region II 50-339 101 Marietta St., N.W., Suite 3100 License Nos. NPF-4 Atlanta, Georgia 30303 hTF-7

Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

DIFFERENTIAL SETTLEMENT NORTH ANNA UNITS 1 & 2 Attached is a technical report prepared in response to the requirements of North Anna Units 1 and 2 Technical Specifications 3/4.7.12. Measurements of differential settlement between the Service Building and the Unit 2 Main Steam Valve Housing have exceeded 75 percent of the allowable settlement given in Table 3.7-5 of the Technical Specifications.

As demonstrated in this report, there is no i==ediate concern for remedial actica. The projection of future settlement is being evaluated based on the increased frequency of settlement monitoring to determine the most appropriate long term remedial action.

This report has been reviewed by the Station Nuclear Safety and Operating Committee.

Very truly yours, l

B.
