Dear Chairman Ahearne:

When we elected Ronald Reagan ? resident on Nove=ber 4, 1980, A=ericans sent a loud =essage that we are tired of inef ficient govern =ent. Con-sidering your January 30, 1981 report to the 3evill Cc==ittee, the NRC (apparently) did not get the message.

Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant in San Luis Obispo, California, is complete and ready to supply us with badly needed electricity. After fifteen years of construction, 200 days of hearings, and a price tag of $2 billion, the time has co=e to stop the cerry-go-round. Your estimate of a low power license for Diablo Canyon of Nove=ber,1931, is totally unacceptable to the majority of Californians.

My message is simple. Cut out the bureaucratic games and shew us the NRC is capable of making responsible, reasonable decisions. If you

. feel you must have more hearings, do so. But without any more delays!!

I urge you to issue a low power license as soon as possible. Citizens of California await your answer.
