Dear Mr. Linder:

SUBJECT:

ATWS - RECIRCULATION PUMP TRIP SYSTEM The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 22 to Provisional Operating License No. DPR-45 for the Lacrosse Boiling Water Reactor (LACBWR). This amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications in response to your application dated September 12, 1980 (LAC-7138).

The amendment modifies the provisions of the Technical Specifications to incorporate Recirculation Pump Trip (RPT) System requirements.

During our review of your application we found it necessary to modify Page 52 of the proposed technical specifications to include Item 17 which had been inadvertently omitted and to eliminate an unrelated proposed change identified as Item 21. We have discussed these changes with your representative and have mutually agreed upon them.

Copies of our Safety Evaluation and the Notice of Issuance are also enclosed.

Sincerely, Ml W f f' ief
