Gentlemen:

This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. D. R. Hunter of

this office on Septe=ber 20-24, 1976, of activities at the Big

Rock Point Nuclear Plant authorized by NRC Operating License No.

DPR-6 and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. DeMoor at

the conclusion of the inspection.

The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas-

examined during the inspection. Within these areas, the inspec-

tion consisted of a selective examination of procedures and

representative records, observstions, and interviews with per-

sonnel.

During this inspection, certain of your activities appeared to

be in noncompliance with NRC requirements, as described under

,

Enforcement Items in the Su==ary of Findings section e' the

'

enclosed inspection renort. The inspection showed that action

had been taken to corrset the identified nonco=pliance and to

prevent recurrence. Consequently, no reply to this noncompliance

is required and we have no further questions regarding this

matter at this time.

In accordance with Section 2.'790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice,"

Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this

letter and the enclosed inspection repor' vill be placed in the

NRC's Public Docu=ent Room, except as follows.

prietary, you cust apply in writing to this office, within twenty

days of your receipt of this letter, to withhold such inforcation-
