Thank you for your letters of March 5 and March 6, 1973, informing us of your position and planned corrective actions to correct the items of apparent noncompliance which we brought to your attention in our letter dated February 12, 1973.

It is our understanding from telephone conversations with your staff representatives on March 9 and March 12, 1973, that the following action will be undertaken.

1.

A Technical Specification amendment will be outeitted in approximately 10 working days to clarify the operability requirements of the emergency condsaser.

2.

Contrary to your estintate for full coupliance by August 1,1973, the primary system leakage determination will be sufficient to meet Technien1 Specification requirements following the March 1973 refuelint outage.

We will examine these matters during subsequent inspections.

A copy of inspection report No. 050-155/73-01, referenced is our letter of February 12, 1973, is enclosed.

In accordance with Section 2.790 of the AEC's " Rules of Practice, Part 2 Title 10, Code of Federal Regu-lations, a copy of this letter, our letter of February 12, 1973, your letters of March 5, 1973, and March 6, 1973, and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the AEC's Public Docunent Room. If the inspection report contains information which you or your contractors believe to be proprietary, it is necessary that you submit a written application to this office, within 20 days of the date of this letter, S"

The application should be prepared so that proprietary infornation identified is contained in a separate part of the application, since the application will also bc placed in the *ublic Docurent Roor.
