Mr. Ralph B. Sewell Nuclear Licensing Administrator 212 West Michigan Avenue Jackson, Michigan 49201 Gentlemen:
Our letter of April 13, 1973, to all licensees of operating nuclear power plants requested supplemental radiation exposure information on reactor plant operator and contractor personnel since 1969. Our notice to AEC licensees dated July 2,1973, enclosed a copy of a proposed acendment to 10 CFR Part 20.407 regarding annual reporting of personnel monitoring information and the form to be used for reporting the data.
Regulatory Guide 1.16, revised October 1973, i
" Reporting of Operating Information", provided the Regulatory position regarding reporting of occupational personnel radiation exposures on a semiannual basis.
j Supplemental radiation exposure information consistent with the Regulatory position given in the revised Regulatory Guide 1.16 and the estimated exposure ranges given in proposed 10 CFR Part 20.407 (twice the ranges given in Regulatory Guide 1.16) is requested for the 1973 calendar year.
The associated plant operator and contractor personnel total man-Rem should be tabulated for each duty function as given in Regulatory Guide 1.16 if available from the plant records.
If the types of exposure records that you maintain do not correspond l
to those in Regulatory Guide 1.16, please provide a tabulation as comparable as possible, bearing in mind that the objective is to determine exposures as functions of specific plant activities.
