Anaconda Cable Deficiencies
Dear Mr. Seidle:
On September 30, 1980, Mr. M.E. Clark reported to Messrs. C.R. Oberg and L.E. Martin that numercus cable jacket deficiencies had been identified at the Wolf Creek Site in cable purchased frco Anaconda Company under Bechtel Purchase Order 410466-E-058.
The defects found prior to September 30, and other defects from thirteen (13) additional reels, have been cut out and examined.
In all cases the conductors and conductor insulation was not affected.
The defects were confined to the jackets and footage markings on the jackets.
These jacket defects are not judged to have a significant effect on cable performance and, therefore, we conclude this matter is not reportable under Regulation 10CFR50.55(e).
Records regarding the jacket defects are available on-site for review by NRC Inspectors.
